The Solway Coastal Tour

The Solway Coast is where we went as children on our summer holidays. But we love returning as adults. With the changes in the seasons, the tides and the weather, it feels different everytime we visit. As well as discovering remote beaches and bays, we call into charming seaside villages and towns for coffee and lunch.

The area is also steeped in history. We visit strategically placed castles and important abbeys - including one where Mary Queen of Scots spent her final night on Scottish soil. The Father of the American Navy was born in a small village on the Solway Coast. We can take you to his birthplace cottage. This tour is one of our favourites and we are sure you will love this hidden gem as well.

A day tour from Dumfries or Lockerbie (it only takes one hour by train to Lockerbie from either Edinburgh or Glasgow). We can provide this tour as part of a multi-day tour package.
