Providing a personalised service
Welcome to Dumfries Tours
in South West Scotland
Using our local knowledge, we provide a tailor-made, friendly, and exclusive guided touring service in South West Scotland. Based in the historic Royal Burgh of Dumfries, we follow in the footsteps of Robert Burns, Robert the Bruce, and John Paul Jones. We get to explore iconic castles and abbeys. We also have tours associated with the most powerful families and clans of this region, such as Maxwell, Johnstone, Jardine, Douglas and Armstrong. On our guided-tours, we visit some of Scotland's most southerly gin and whisky distilleries. We also stop at the best establishments for locally sourced food and refreshments on route. If you want to explore your family history then we will do the research and plan a route to show how your Scottish ancestors lived.

Mark is an amazing tour guide. I wanted to see the farms and towns my ancestors emigrated from almost 200 years ago. What Mark delivered was exactly what I wanted, and even exceeded all my expectations. I now know, in my bones, where I came from. - Christine Willes, British Columbia.
-
Mark did a fantastic job of creating a two day itinerary that took us all over the Dumfries and Galloway area including several cemeteries and sites that are part of my ancestry, along with many historical sites in the area. We would recommend Mark and Dumfries Tours to everyone. - Becky Sodenkamp, Utah.

Mark is an excellent guide with deep knowledge of Scotland. He showed us so many things we would have missed if we’d tried to tour on our own. Days later and we are still chatting about his wit and the many beautiful things we saw. - Melissa Ullom, Washington DC.

Absolutely brilliant day touring with Mark. He set the tour up with just one day's notice. He showed us how fantastic Dumfries and Galloway is. We had such a great day. Learned so much and took loads of photos. I highly recommend the tours and hope to return soon. Thanks again. - Lorna Stephenson, Edinburgh.
